P.S. (Private Screening) - Part 2

I remember being in a restaurant with Rama once. We had been talking about some film actors and directors - I think Rama was showing me how to see at the time. I had picked up on a couple of small, weird things about these 'beings' of power - when the next thing I know, a dark form of a well-known director's face appeared in my inner eye, and tried to slam my head down into my soup! It was so strong that I had to physically resist!

People do not always appreciate your seeing! It can be an invasion of privacy. Perhaps I am scared to peer too deeply. However, it doesn't feel right to look into others lives, without first looking into my own.

It is not always clear to me if I should be actively using seeing for something. Perhaps 'I' am not in control of it! It comes to me, and 'I' have to get out of the way to allow its wisdom out. It is so innate that I am often not aware of it - it is an everyday thing. Perhaps I am forgetting the wonder…

"The deepest flaw of unseasoned warriors is that they are willing to forget the wonder of what they see. They become overwhelmed by the fact that they see and believe that it's their genius that counts. A seasoned warrior must be a paragon of discipline in order to override the nearly invincible laxness of our human condition. More important than seeing itself is what warriors do with what they see."

The Fire from Within

What should we be doing with what we see? Where should we be directing our seeing? I do not know.

Perhaps the purpose comes when we need it. Seeing is my: Self-defence mechanism, news channel, guide to what is 'just right', shopping tool (!), forecaster/investor, truth seeker, prophet, light for the path, sword. With seeing I am a lighthouse, I am the lens, I am the eye of the Universe. Without it I would be blind, and hence (the key thing)….unhappy!

Long live the faculty! Long live the beholder! Long live the light to shine through!
