Rama - Dr Frederick Lenz
Frederick Lenz, whose spiritual name was Rama, was an enlightened teacher who taught what he called
American Buddhism.
To Rama, Buddhism is a very pragmatic practice that can be used by each of us in our daily lives. It is a practice that utilizes our work,
our daily chores, our fun and our inter-relationships with others to discover more about who we are. In short, the Buddhist practices of
meditation and mindfullness are not separate from our lives, our practice is our life and that practice works in our modern society.
This site contains writings by some of Rama's students about their
experiences and the lessons that they have learned. They are
a snapshot of an individual students' understanding at a particular
time. They are not intended to be a complete summary of Rama's
